Eldmannen
Anyone know if it is possible to remove Windows Picture and Fax Viewer that comes with Windows XP? I hate it!
Moderators Andavari Posted July 18, 2005 Moderators Share Posted July 18, 2005 It's another one of the dreaded can't uninstall components, however you can disable it via these instructions: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article03-201 or http://www.theeldergeek.com/delete_pic_and_fax_viewer.htm
Eldmannen
Thanks, JPG, PNG and GIF opens in the software it should. But BMP still opens in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer instead of mspaint. I wish there was a way to remove it...

agumon
try this: go to add/remove programs... then click on the "Add/Remove Windows Components"... then highlight "Accessories and Utilities" and click on 'Details..' button... then highlight on "Accessories" then click on 'Details..' button... then check the checkbox for Paint... and click 'OK' button... you may need the Windows Installation disc... --==aGumon==--
