NewHaunter
What happens when I do "Defrag Freespace"? And what is the difference with "Defrag Freespace (allow fragmentation)? There is no helpfile. Pentium4 3,00GHz - 2GB RAM - ATI Radeon X1950 PRO 256MB - 4xHDD = 1,36TB - XP Home SP3

NewHaunter
See here: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showto...mp;#entry110791 I don't understand the explanation. I think he uses the word "defragmentation" instead of "fragmentation". davey
I don't understand the explanation. I think he uses the word "defragmentation" instead of "fragmentation". Hello NewHaunter, Also accept my Welcome to the Forums. You "understood" my explanation perfectly. It was worded incorrectly. What can I say about my original post but that you are exactly correct. I did use the word "defragmentation" three or four times when it should have been "fragmentation". I have corrected the post. Please check it and see if it makes more sense now. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=110791 These links are great to learn what "defragmentation" is for and when best to do it. Also covers Free Space fragmentation. Disk Defragmenter http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb742585.aspx The Desktop Files The Truth about Defragmentation. Also provides explanation and link to PageDefrag program. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc137767.aspx I must have "fragmented" my coffee intake too much the morning I created that post.
