Corona
What is ShellNoRoam? It'd make a great band name. CCleaner always finds those files and lists them as the scum that they are. I always delete them. But really, what kind of files are they?

YoKenny
I Googled for it and found This is what i did and it worked great for me. If you've ticked "Remember each folder's view settings" in "My Computer", "Tools", "Folder Options", "Views" Then go to here in the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags Delete the Keys "BagsMRU" and "Bags". Restart Windows. Then go to:- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell and add a DWORD called BagMRU Size and give it a value of 000003e8 Then go to :- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam make a DWORD called BagMRU Size and give it a value of 000003e8 Now you can change each folder to the way you want them and the setting will stay for at least 1000 views. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1045990083 On my old PIII it is set to 1388 Its a Most Recently Used ( MRU ) indicator. Moderators DennisD Posted October 13, 2008 Moderators Share Posted October 13, 2008 I believe they're used to store windows folder settings, and the details of up to 400 folders are stored. You can change this number with TweakUI. TweakUI: The download link is in the right column, down the page.
Corona
Ah, now I know. An MUI indicator. Thanks. No, I'm not going in with a pair of tweezers to pry apart my Registry. I'll leave it alone. I was just curious what they were because they have the coolest name.
Moderators Andavari Posted October 13, 2008 Moderators Share Posted October 13, 2008 I was just curious what they were because they have the coolest name. ShellNoRoam reminds me of a Metallica song title.

TweakUI is a pretty good Microsoft tool (power toy) for making minor changes to a whole host of things in XP, and the beauty of it is the ability to change things back just as easily. Corona
I've had TweakUI for years now. But I only use it superficially. I don't get into the super detailed guts of it.
