I Googled for it and found

This is what i did and it worked great for me.

If you've ticked "Remember each folder's view settings" in "My Computer", "Tools",

"Folder Options", "Views"

Then go to here in the registry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags

Delete the Keys "BagsMRU" and "Bags".

Restart Windows.

Then go to:-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell

and add a DWORD called

BagMRU Size

and give it a value of

000003e8

Then go to :-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam

make a DWORD called

BagMRU Size

and give it a value of

000003e8

Now you can change each folder to the way you want them and the setting will stay

for at least 1000 views.

On my old PIII it is set to 1388

Ah, now I know. An MUI indicator. Thanks. :)

No, I'm not going in with a pair of tweezers to pry apart my Registry. I'll leave it alone. I was just curious what they were because they have the coolest name.

TweakUI is a pretty good Microsoft tool (power toy) for making minor changes to a whole host of things in XP, and the beauty of it is the ability to change things back just as easily.
