Picasa Google Pics Software fragments

It's been a while since I've used Defraggler and I don't think I had Picasa installed the last time I did. I noticed TONS of fragments related to many of my pics. Is this because of Picasa? The fragments are in the "My Pics" folder - not in the Picasa program folder.

 

I really like this software (Picasa) and hadn't noticed any problems until seeing all these fragments. It's quick, easy to share pics on google, and even to send to Walgreens to print (from the web not the software). I do a lot of photo sharing for work and this program has been the most efficient (and does not seem to slow my pc while running it).

 

Has anyone else noticed this? Are the fragments just due to changes to the file - Picasa or not? Do I just need to deal with it and run the Defraggler on that folder often?

Hello Boxer,

You don't have to worry about defragging unless you suffer any slow downs and such. Pics create a lot fragments because each one is so large. You can defrag those that you have if it makes you feel better.

Some people go off the deep end on defragging too often and all they do is move stuff around and save no time in their day to day use of the PC. If Windows Disk Defragger says it needs it when you analyze then do so if not don't. Or just use Defraggler to defrag your pics.
