Jesse1
Hi Piriform! I have been using Defraggler and CCleaner for some time now and just recently ran into one problem with Defraggler (the most recent version). Everytime i try to defragment i get a "Defrag Failed" beside status. I am currently running Vista Business 64-bit SP1 with all the latest updates, etc. Steps to how i defragment... -Open up Defraggler -Click analyze -Tick off the colomn to defrag ALL files -Click Defrag And that's really all there is to it. Im currently doing the "Defrag Drive" option which i actually did not even know existed and it seems to be working, very slowly. That's all, thanks. defraggler.exe._1_1_73__2008_05_25_05_01_.txt defraggler.exe._1_1_73__2008_05_25_05_01_.txt

Hi Jesse, Others also are experiencing the same thing as you are. I am using the latest version also but I am only defraging certain selected files and I have no problems. It also seems to run faster than before. Some people have had problems with System Volume files. Your information will be helpful to the "Bug Removers". Thanks, davey
Guest MrRon
Can you post a screen shot of the app when 'Defrag Failed' appears? MrRon

Jesse1
Hi, I took a couple screen for you. The first one is of the defrag when it fails, i put a dot beside the thing is causing it. defragleruser
I have had no problem on my own computer but had problems with two new Vista computers. The large files beginning with a "{" caused a defrag Failed message. By un checking only those files I was able to complete.
Xenomorph
I just came to this forum to look up why I was getting this issue. Defraggler 1.01.073 Vista Ultimate SP1, 32-bit Intel E2220 @ 3.2 GHz 2 Gigs DDR2 RAM GeForce 8600 GT 640 Gig WD I start Defraggler, I click Analyze, I check off All Files, I click Defrag Defraggler doesn't do anything but say "Defrag Failed". EDIT, I checked the error log: [2008-05-28] [02:34:22.099] 015f0 1 CDefragmentation::DefragPath#787 Path: "C:\Windows\System32\wbem\Logs\WMITracing.log" [2008-05-28] [02:34:22.099] 015f0 1 CDefragmentation::DefragFiles#690 Leaving CDefragmentation::DefragFiles [2008-05-28] [02:34:22.099] 015f0 1 CDefragmentation::DefragFiles#688 Leaving CDefragmentation::DefragFiles [2008-05-28] [02:34:22.099] 015f0 1 CVolumeOperationScheduler::ExecuteQueuedMethods#218 std::exception caught: boost::filesystem::is_directory: Access is denied [2008-05-28] [02:34:22.099] 015f0 1 CVolumeOperationScheduler::ExecuteQueuedMethods#231 ---------------- Long task finished (time: 0.096s, return code: 0x000003e3) ---------------- [2008-05-28] [02:34:22.115] 00fe8 1 CVolume::UpdateDriveMap#317 Map generated in 0.02626 seconds. It seems that instead of skipping locked files, it is just giving up and stopping the whole defrag. I guess I will downgrade back to the previous version until this is fixed.
