I received that message a while back and un-installed it then downloaded avast! Home Free:

I have read that Grisoft has agreed to keep updating its definitions until the end of the year but you probably have to put up with the message to upgrade to the bloated 8.0 every time you want to update the definition files.

I got that message today, and have had it pop up before.

I like AVG (FREE) 7.5, and would like to stay with AVG... but from what I'm reading about version 8.0' well?

I guess I have 7 months left to make up my mind about what I do?

I heard report about AVG stopping support for Win9x/ME a while ago, they were supposted to stop in August this year. Now they are stopping AVG 7.5 at the end of this month. But I think we have a slight reprieve. ;)

please don't kill version 7.5 of AVG free edition

Hi YoKenny ;)

After finding out more about "AVG Free 8.0"... <_<

I have also uninstalled "AVG FREE 7.5" and am pleased to be using "avast! 4.8 Home Edition"
