Hi luik,

I am pretty much a NEWBIE to using CCleaner myself.

Excuse me for asking some Basic Questions but they need to be asked.

Do you have the Cookies box CHECKED in THE Cleaner window?

What Browser are you using? Does it have add-ons?

Are you saying that these cookies are never removed?

Do you understand that they will come back when someone goes back to those websites?

Do you have the box Save SETTINGS TO .INI file CHECKED in the OPTIONS > ADVANCED window?

The answers will help in trying to resolve your problem.

How many COOKIES are in the list?

Best wishes,

:) davey

Hi luik,

OK! Now I understand why you want the new version to come out soon.

I hope it has your fix.

Can't you manually delete those cookies until then?

If not so be it.

Best Wishes,

:) davey

CCleaner can delete cookies in Firefox. The settings for that are under the "Applications" tab. When you open CCleaner you are looking at a tab that has a list under it and the tab is labeled "Windows" but the other tab is the "Applications" tab. It is there that you will find the settings for Firefox.

Personally, I let my antispyware programs get rid of the cookies that are bad so I don't have to log back into the many sites that I have cookies for. I do understand if you want to get rid of them. I find it easy when I do want to get rid of them in Firefox to go to "Tools", then "Clear Private Data" and choosing what to get rid of.

Also in CCleaner I usually uncheck the "Utilities" boxes, because as a tech, I know that most of those logs aren't too large and also can be very helpful in finding what infection there may be on a machine or what went wrong with a machine. Also the same is true on the "Windows" tab for the "Windows Log Files".

You might try my method for using the built in utility for Firefox to "Clear Private Data" once and clean everything. Then the next time after you've used Firefox for a little while, then try the settings in CCleaner and see if that works at that time. Also after running CCleaner reboot the computer and then look to see if your cookies are still there. After that if the cookies are still there, then there is a problem with CCleaner. But try those methods first.
