drjohnkent
My previous version of CCleaner worked great! I downloaded the latest version but it will not install - it doesn't recognize the CCleaner.exe file. I downloaded the latest version from an alternate site - same problem. I uninstalled my current version and tried a new installation - and now I have NO CCleaner, but this time a window popped up about lack of a 1033.dll file. I'm running Windows XP SP2 Hebrew-enabled, through a hardware firewall on the router of my home network. Suggestions? Thanks!
Moderators hazelnut Posted October 5, 2007 Moderators Share Posted October 5, 2007 Can you reinstall the old version you had for now? Older versions can be found here on right hand side http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ I believe the file you mentioned is to do with languages. There are sites which have free downloads of the 1033.dll file but I do not know enough about this area to suggest that you do it. unsober
yeah, there's sites that you can download .dll files from, such as www.dll-files.com it's a trustworthy site and I've used it many times although, lang-1033.dll isn't a universal windows .dll file.. it was specifically created for CCleaner, so chances are you probably won't find it on any .dll download sites unless the file you need is _ISRES1033.dll ? _ISRES1033.dll is a file needed for installation shields (installing software) if that's the file you are missing, you can just download it from www.dll-files.com then put it in the C:\Windows\System32 directory if lang-1033.dll is the file you are missing, then I have no idea how to fix that. Mr. G is probably the only one that can help you with that maybe the new CCleaner version isn't compatible with Hebrew yet? that's the only thing I can think of (since lang-1033.dll is a language translation file..) Whiteshark
I believe that downloading the CCleaner portable version all language files are included in the package Edit: Oppss ! lang-1033.dll is missing. No idea which language it would contain Update: Seems that the reference for hebrew language .dll file is lang-1037.dll Guide in italiano per CCleaner - Recuva - Defraggler - Speccy
Admin MrG Posted October 5, 2007 Admin Share Posted October 5, 2007 lang-1033.dll is now embedded within the main EXE. The problem could be due to an old version of the EXE not being overwritten. I'd suggest rebooting and then installing the latest version from: http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup201.exe MrG Piriform.com - [CCleaner - Defraggler - Recuva - Speccy]
