Icedrake
I'm not sure which CCleaner to use because some i heard that CCleaner 2 has more bugs that need to be fixed and CCleaner 1.41 is better... Can someone please give me some advice?
Tiffany
Well, I have gone back to 1.41.544 until they sort this out. You can find it at Major Geeks. http://majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Portable_d5735.html
2harts4ever
Hi Icedrake, Ditto Tiffany's reply for me too! Regards, 2harts4ever " ... Nuff Said. Keep Smiling Because I'm Smiling Too! ..."
login123
I just installed and ran ver 1.41.544 on a wxp up to date machine, worked as advertised, and so did ver 2.500. Ver 2.500 stalled for a bit at about 50 percent scan, but then finished pretty fast. I am running an old version of CCleaner, not because of bugs, just too lazy to install the new one. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers. hub_cap
Ditto that! O.K., now I've gone back to 1.5 as 2.0 is WAY too slow and doesn't clean nearly as much
DJpailo
I think there are still some bugs with CCleaner. Although the temporary file cleaning is slower, the scan of the registry is much quicker and by far more effective then before. I don't get any repeated values anymore. http://www.lavasoftusa.com http://wiki.lunarsof.../PC_Maintenance
unsober
I use CCleaner 2 and I haven't run into any bugs.. it works fine for me.
Pfipps
In Vista, CCleaner 2 is definitely better than the previous version...the Registry Issues cleaner no longer breaks certain programs and it now cleans the "recent files" in Vista...for two examples. shieber
The older 1.41.544 works better than 2.0.500 on most machines. The 2.0 bugs (for example, not cleaning tem interenet files) have apparently been worked out in version 2.01, which should be availalbe today or Monday. Check the download/versions page for what's been fixed in 2.01. In Vista, CCleaner 2 is definitely better than the previous version...the Registry Issues cleaner no longer breaks certain programs andit now cleans the "recent files" in Vista...for two examples.
