NoviceDave
Are INDEX.DAT files erased with CCleaner? It seems like it gets everything, but since INDEX.DAT files are held hostage while Windows is running, I didn't know. Thanks, Dave

Robbie
Yes, they will be deleted after reboot.but are they just simply deleted or actually wiped using the Secure Deletion feature (if that option has been chosen)? I have a feeling it is just the former (the file is simply deleted to free space and a new file created by Windows).

Madmartigan
I'm pretty sure that it isn't with the secure deletion, I may be wrong though. Eraser should be able to securely delete the index.dat files. Of course they will keep coming back. I guess you could write a batch file for Eraser to clean index.dat at startup. Hope this helps!
