Two reboots to clear index.dat file

Recommended Posts

I've found that I have to reboot my computer twice to make the index.dat

file change to the 16kb default size using the 'Run Cleaner when the

Computer Starts Option' Set. Is anyone else experiencing this?

XP Folder - C:\Documents and Settings\User\Cookies

Both CCleaner version 1.18.101 and 1.19.105

When the computer starts, the index is already locked by Windows - CCleaner runs and then flags it for deletion - therefore you have to reboot again, and Windows will delete it.
