I'm a new user to these forums, although I have been using CCleaner for some time (excellent prog that it is!)

For some months now though, this has been bugging me:

Whenever I run CCleaner, about 50% of the time I get a list of (13 at present) uninstaller reference issues.

Even if I tell CCleaner to fix the selected issues, a day or two later, they're back again...

My knowledge of PCs/Windows is not that great, but I would be extremely grateful if anyone could tell me why this is/or what I'm doing wrong, just so I can resolve this for once and for all. Not any criticism of CCleaner implied, mind.

Incidentally, I have also found this with other programs I use (Ashampoo Winoptimiser Platinum 3, Eusing Free Registry Cleaner).

Can anyone give me any pointers in the right direction please?

Thanks.

You might want to take a look at this Windows Installer CleanUp utility. I used it at Microsoft's suggestion to fix an 'installing update' issue once. One of Microsoft's Net Frameworks security updates wouldn't install on my PC correctly, and I used this utility to remove the existing installation so I could try again and install it via their download links. It could be that you have 13 installer issues to be removed. Use at your own discretion though, as I'm not sure about the results. You should probably ask Microsoft or someone else here about it before you use it.

Apologies for the delay in replying....

I have looked at your advice, but being a beginner, it looks quite complicated and beyond my knowledge. I'm not sure it's something I want to mess with at the moment.

Hopefully, there is a less complicated method. I'll wait a while to see if anyone else has any alternative suggestions.

Many thanks for your reply though!
