TeeJay3800
I recently saw a-squared Free on File Hippo and had not seen it mentioned on this forum much at all. When are people's opinions of this software, and is something I should consider part of my anti-spyware arsenal? a-squared Free 2.1 Dell Latitude D600 Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1
Moderators rridgely Posted May 9, 2007 Moderators Share Posted May 9, 2007 It finds a lot of false detections when I run it. I would just stick to superantispyware and avg antispyware.
Anthony A
I have been using it for about 3 months now maybe longer and I have not had one false positive. I tried the online version before that and did get many false positives. Only used it about a week though.
fireryone
I don't have the patience for it, it takes as long or longer than an antivirus to scan your system... fireryone
Anthony A
I don't have the patience for it, it takes as long or longer than an antivirus to scan your system... You have four choices for the type of scan you want. The most thorough scan (also the longest) is faster than Superantispyware which everybody raves about. I run the scan one every week or two so I don't care how long it takes as long as it's thorough. Of all the spyware programs I have SAS is by far the longest scan. KS-FINN
It finds a lot of false detections when I run it.I would just stick to superantispyware and avg antispyware. I also tried it and removed it because of all the false detections. !!

Tarq57
Have it, along with on demand SAS, AVG AS, resident ST, + everyones old faves (they don't get much of a work out these days.) Like it. Frequent updates, good scan, seems to be good at removal...don't really know, been a long time since I've had to remove anything, and the occasional FP. No big deal. When I got SpywareQuake a year or so ago, it was the one application that found and finished the beast off, after running SmitfraudRem. Recommend. It's good, the price is right, support seems good, just keep an eye out for the FP's.
1984
yeah ive never had any problems with false positives myself. it seems to find the exact same things as the other ones i use.........
JAGO
SAS has never found anything on my system. Lavasoft's Ad-Aware new version found one item, but it was a tracking cookie -> something they all should look for. AVG Anti-spyware is the best in my opinion. Spybot is also on my top tier because of the immunize feature .
