XP Pro?

Got a new PC at work today. Anything I should be aware of that is different about Pro than Home?

For basic usage, not really.

Here is a comparison guide from MS:

Thank You!

Sort of relatated inquiry...is xpPro better at networking than the Home addition. i was told this a long while ago and just would like some clerification if there is any to give. thankx

It just has more options like:

Remote Desktop ? remotely access your Windows XP Professional PC, from another Windows PC, so you can work with all of your data and applications while away from your office.

Offline Files and Folders - access to files & folders on a network share when disconnected from the server.

Roaming User Profiles - access to all your documents and settings no matter where you log on.

Remote Installation Service (RIS) ? support for remote operating system installations where desktops can be installed across the network.

And all the other stuff in my link. :P:D

Mostly only stuff that would be useful in a business type environment.(or other places with large networks like libraries, schools, ect.)

thankx for the update

Remote Desktop is one of those apps I can't live without. I use it to remotely repair other machines. My Mom/Sisters desktop that is in NYC. Tomorrow, I'm going out onsite to a job that is 1.5 hrs away. So, I'll be setting up remote desktop their so I don't have to go out again. When me and the ex-wife were in talking terms I used to repair 2 desktops over there in Indiana.
