WS_FTP Home 2006 - free download

Hi,

Has anyone noticed we're giving away WS_FTP Home 2006 as our current free commercial download? I thought it would prove really popular, but it doesn't seem as popular as the Paragon apps.

Actually, we've got another full Paragon app going up next week.

Type time limited demo

hmm? is WS_FTP as good as FileZilla is? actually, FileZilla 3.0 is in beta so it will be nice to compare.

pwillener: from the website,

Note, ignore the ‘time limited demo’ reference on this page. This is the full commercial download and does not require a serial code.

I have been using WS_FTP for many, many years, and it has all the features I need (including access to MVS mainframe systems).

Regarding the 'limited demo', I have downloaded software from there in the past, and it has also turned out to be just a limited demo. I would hate to lose my WS_FTP Pro 6.0 by installing a demo version over it.

Or maybe I should just try it - I always have a system backup anyway.

[Edit] my bad; I should have read more carefully - this is WS_FTP Home.

Please read the body copy "Note, ignore the ?time limited demo? reference on this page. This is the full commercial download and does not require a serial code."

I have NO option in our internal CMS to classify our full downloads as full downloads. I asked for this addition ages ago, but getting anything changed internally takes a long time in a large company. I avoid using the 'freeware' classification as it definitely isn't freeware.

The FireFTP extension for Firefox has proven to be better than any other client for me.

True. I use Directory Opus 8 and this can't be bettered as an Explorer replacement. Once installed, I can't go back to the original Explorer. Opus has FTP support built in to the software, too.

Chris.

Heh, you can never complain about an FTP client that forces you to keep an offline backup when you do eventually botch your online copy :).
