writing files to cd

each time i write a file to a cd the icon overlaying the Microsoft Word icon on the cd appears to be an ie7 icon? why? i just downloaded ie7...but why would that have anything to do with writing files to cd's? this ie7 icon overlays any type of document...not just Microsoft Word documents

the overlayed icon is the blue e with yellow orbit as can be seen in this link..... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/...ie/default.mspx

thanks in advance for your help

never mind...thanks anyway...i simply uninstalled IE7 and the problem went away...now, just the normal icons (eg, Microsoft Word) are on the cd...i don't know why downloading ie7 created this problem?

Who knows why IE7 messed it up, however when I tried IE7 after it was released I had a similar problem with icons that it took over and wouldn't allow changed even after editing the registry. It also caused some sort of resource hog issue with MS Office's ctfmon.exe, the browser is really a mess.

The ultimate fix is to not download and install IE7 at all.
