FYI- Using XP and IE7

Open command prompy type in following:

dir c:\index.dat /s /a h s (if windows is installed on c:)

To create a text file of this in the root dir of c:\ type:

dir c:\index.dat /s /a h s >c:\idotdat.txt

Results are as follows:

1. C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Cookies\

Can Open With notrpad.exe Client UrlCache MMF Ver 5.2, 16,384 bytes

2. C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\

Can NOT open or view with "Windows Explorer.exe" even if set to show hidden and systems files and folders.

3. C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\

1. Browse the Internet to fill up IE with data.

2. Run Analyze with CCleaner shows only one index.dat (with Version 1.38.485 or 139.502) Even with options set to "Show detailed log of Internet Explorer temporary files"

I have only found booting with a floppy or a CD that runs a batch file that deletes these files to be the only possible solution so far. Windows XP protects these files, Vista is even more protective.

This is a sick joke but a friend said "Maybe CCleaner should be called CDuster"

As you see I'm logged in as admin so CCleaner will not clean those index.dat files belonging to other profiles.

CCleaner can only keep get better :)
