Windows In Tools UnInstall Programs - Chrome

Thursday, September 26, 2024 Using Chrome and Windows.

Disappointed when uninstalling a program and clicking a box that I thought deleted google links associated with that program, now all my google desktop shortcuts are gone, other shortcuts don’t work, passwords are saved, can’t create any shortcuts.

I’m not having fun spending hours trying to reestablish them is a complete disaster been with CCleaner for over 15years, trust the programmers, I know now absolutely read everything first, don’t assume nothing and think twice about the question.

Now what?

What were you uninstalling?
What were you using to uninstall it?
What/where was that ‘box’ that you clicked?

CCleaners uninstall tool just calls the Windows uninstaller. (It’s just another option than doing it through Windows settings).
It doesn’t give you any different options than what Windows itself does.

I suspect that you have selected something in the apps own uninstall routine that has had the effect that you describe.

What were you uninstalling? A shortcut to Walmart homepage.
What were you using to uninstall it? CCleaners uninstall programs to remove.
What/where was that ‘box’ that you clicked? Yea - per verbatim don’t know - what i do know it was a google question about removing the associated links to the removal of the Walmart desktop shortcut.

Unfortunately then it looks like it was that Google “remove links” option that has removed your stuff.

Yes indeed it did, had too many shortcuts on the desktop now I cant create any more shortcuts either, chrome is corrupted, I’m going to do more deeper reading when I do something that’s creating more work - Thanks for the reply & update .
