I'am interesting why it don't remove compress old files on Win XP. I must to clean manualy disc cleanup in my computers for both disc C and D. On my second computer that have Win 7 it work's perfect.

Compress old files just stores old files in compressed format.
It does not delete them.
While compressing saves space, it also causes it to take longer to load those files because they have to be uncompressed to launch next time.
