Why do I have two licenses?

I thought I had only one subscription, but noticed I have two licenses. Why?

@Laurence_CCleaner

We have seen this a few times before when a user has inadvertantly managed to purchase a new licence when trying to renew their current one, and so ends up with two accounts.
Quite often they don’t notice what has happened for a year or two.

Of course some people do want, and do have, more than one account/licence and so the system thinks nothing of it.

To work out what is going on with your accounts you will need to contact support.
If you do have two accounts active by mistake then you can ask them to do a “Licence merge” which will join them into one account that then runs for the time left for both added together so that you don’t lose what you have paid for, or you can ask then to cancel the newest one and refund it.

To start the support process fill in this form: Contact Form.
Once you click ‘Next’ to submit the form you will be given a support ticket/ID number onscreen, with a summary of your request.
The 'Live Chart dialogue should open automatically with a message from the AI Chatbot - if it doesn’t open itself then there is a ‘Start Chat’ button.
If the Chatbot can’t help then you will be passed to a real person.

IMPORTANT- Don’t just fill in the form and leave - If you do not engage with the chat then you will not get any reply.

PS. There is also another possibility if we are talking about different devices.
If you buy CCleaner for a mobile device, ie. CCleaner Android from the Google Store, or CCCleaner iOS from the Apple store, then you have that subscription/licence with your Store account (Google or Apple) and not with CCleaner themselves.
You can then have a second subscription/licence with CCleaner for your PC and/or MacOS devices.
(You could even have 3, one for PC/MAC, one for Android, and one for iOS).

Hi @Termite,
I can see from our records that you contacted our support team, and they merged your licenses together, so you now have one license.
If you had any issues, please message me back so I can investigate this further.

It would appear that the merging two licenses was okay. Now, Software updater keeps showing a red dot which I assume indicates something isn’t updating. Can you help?

Guess what? The Red Dot disappeared after at least five times trying to update. Did you wave your magic wand?

I think the red dot indicates that something has been found to update.

So if whatever it was has updated itself (without CCleaner) then the next time CCleaner checks it will be up to date and so the red dot will no longer be shown.
