i am not haveing any luck with any of the sugestions to fix this i want my $30 dollars back and i am going to sue the )(**&^&& out of them.
- The combination of Defraggler and System Restore/Volume Shadow system is and remains a cumbersome one. And Windows has its own thoughts when it comes to making those System Restore Points. I assume that when a program (e.g. Defraggler) moves system files (from e.g. "c:\program files", "c:\users\" or "C:\windows"), then that could be the reason for Windows to make a new System Restore Point.
(I do think Piriform should update the documentation ASAP)
- Windows will automatically free up disk space when the amount of free space drops below a certain %. Just simply copying a bunch of VERY large files to a new folder should do the trick.
Did you try this ?
- Antibody's WIZTREE can show you how large the folder "System Volume Information" (containing the System Restore Points Data/info) is. How large is this folder ?
- Disable the Windows' System Restore Points feature for all drives and restart. Then those System Restore Points are gone.
- Tick the "Disable VSS when defragmenting" option (this option is buried deep in one of the roll down menus of Defraggler).
- If you want to then re-enable the System Restore Points feauture.
