Hi
Soon I may be moving from a fast internet connection to a much slower and restricted one.
Basically I have to cut down on the programs I use to maintain my laptop.
The following are the programs I use:
Ad-Aware - spyware
Spybot - spyware
SpywareBlaster - spyware
Avast - virus
ClamWin - virus
RegscrubXP - registry
Regseeker - registry
ERUNT - registry
NTREGOPT - registry
HDCleaner - trash
CCleaner - trash, registry and more
Which of the above may I start to exclude?
Many thanks.
None.
What would your internet connection have to do with these programs?
Internet connection doesnt really matter so much on how many programs you can use.
Some applications connect to the internet, but most of the ones listed dont really steal any bandwidth.
You dont have to get rid of any software just because you get a new internet connection which is slower.

This topic was from a long time ago. And DJ pretty much answered his question so no need to bring it back up.

If you're using Internet Explorer and it's set to log each page as you browse, browsing will become very 'slow' - because IE downloads certain information about each page you view.
I reccomend Firefox (www.mozilla.org).
The PC I'm using right now browses the internet at very slow speeds, even with the huge pipe I'm on. It has nothing to do with the connection, it's running 98 and it can't handle the 400GB HD.
