where do piriform gets its money?

i am wondering- where do Piriform gets its money? sponsors- sure.. but it isn't enough i am pretty sure..

no ads? cause i didn't see any ads in here

AFAIK, They get money from Filehippo every time someone downloads CCleaner, Donations made by the users, the Yahoo Toolbar, maybe other few ways.

I would not of thought they would get any money from file hippo from downloads.

The probably have an agreement with yahoo toolbar and probably get a lot of money from there. You can imagine how many people download their products, that is a lot of exposure to the toolbar, so naturally you'd expect yahoo to pay a lot for that.

I wouldn't personally think third-party add-ons like for instance in this case Yahoo Toolbar would pay much per download, however if you see how many downloads CCleaner gets I suppose it could possibly add up -- sheer userbase could help in that scenario alone. Now if only all those users donated annually!

Thats actually a good point, I never thought about it. I'd have to assume its at least a part time job committment, but I dont think it'd be absurd to say they all have fulltime jobs or are retired and that Piriform is just a hobby. Hmm.. Maybe one of the devs could tell us ;)
