When is it ever too much?

Tax his land, tax his bed,

Tax the table, at which he's fed.

Tax his tractor, tax his mule,

Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his work, tax his pay,

He works for peanuts anyway!

Tax his cow, tax his goat,

Tax his pants, tax his coat.

Tax his ties, tax his shirt,

Tax his work, tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco, tax his drink,

Tax him if he tries to think.

Tax his cigars, tax his beers,

If he cries, tax his tears.

Tax his car, tax his gas,

Find other ways to tax his ass.

Tax all he has, then let him know,

That you won't be done, till he has no dough.

When he screams, tax him more,

Tax him till he's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin, tax his grave,

Tax the sod in which he's laid.

Put these words upon his tomb,

Taxes drove me to my doom.

When he's gone, do not relax...

It's time to apply the inheritance tax!

April 14th is just around the corner

Death, taxes, and a bazillion freakin' laws. Welcome to Earth!

A 'window tax' was first introduced in 1696. It was seen by some as a tax on light and air; but despite its unpopularity, it was not abolished until 1851. Because houses with more than a certain number of windows were liable to be taxed, house owners often, reluctantly, blocked up windows, and there was a tendency to include fewer windows when new houses were built

Yes we even had a tax for windows !

Remember this thread on election day. ;)

In Melbourne Australia there's a new carbon tax for burying your deceased relatives.

I'm surprised they haven't thought of a way to tax the tax. And some of the "taxes" they charge for instance on cigerettes that are supposed to profoundly help schools by keeping them open, buying school supplies, employing teachers doesn't seem to be working as designed - probably funding something for politicians instead.

The receptionist said that carbon tax increased the bill.

The manager denied that.

All that was about burying the body.

What about cremation ?

Perhaps a double whammy - tax on the energy for the furnace and tax on the CO2 discharge ?

This is getting out of hand!

Then, they will have to tax the taxers for their carbon footprint, the air they breathe while incinerating the bodies, etc...

Who is gonna tax the taxers? :D

* Wait! If we have to tax the taxers, won't that make it balance to 0 carbon footprint? What's the point of carbon taxes if it = 0? LOL!

To be honest, a carbon tax will INCREASE carbon. Everyone will have to calculate how much carbon they are using, what should be offset, how much $$$ they owe, how to make extra $$$ to cover for the extra $$$ tax they owe. This will waste more time, energy, thinking, money, trees, resources, & ultimately... More carbon!

Australian taxes are currently at their lowest point in 77 years. It's just that everyone hates the ginger in charge so intensely that they choose to ignore that little factoid. This year i earned more than ever, and will pay less tax than ever.

Have you considered moving to Liechtenstein?
