What does Miscellaneous Caches remove?

When I ran CCleaner (1.00.077 Beta) on my Mac today, I became curious about the following "Caches" under the Miscellaneous category, which found about 3.5GB of data:

Miscellaneous

Caches 3,558,961 KB 10,908 files

What files are these?

Thanks!

Presumably various system caches or other program caches not covered by System categories, perhaps one of the developers can chime in (I don't have a mac, and I don't know if it operates like the windows version where you can see within the program given the right command.

Hi Guys

That rule handles files from these folders:

~/Library/Caches

/Library/Caches

/private/var/folders/.../-Caches-/

Well there you have it. Thanks Hulk :)

So is it Safe to leave the miscellaneous caches box ticked?

if you are ok with removing those caches it should be well safe to clean them with ccleaner
