Welcome screen that won't die

Every time I open the new version, I have to get rid of the welcome screen. I don’t need to see it EVERY TIME I open ccleaner.

Sounds like a faulty install.

In Windows go to Settings>apps and click on CCleaner7 as if you were uninstalling it.

You should be offered a ‘Repair’ button as well as an ‘Uninstall’ button.

Do the Repair.

That seems to have killed the welcome screen. Now I keep getting an ‘upgrade now’ screen that won’t die. This stuff is probably inherent to the product, not a faulty install.

I think the “Upgrade now” is a nag pop-up to purchase a licence, or enter your existing licence key into Settings > My Subscription.

You may be happier rolling back to v6.39 (in the hope that they may at sometime get CCleaner7 actually fit for purpose).

How to Roll Back from v7 to v6.39
Follow ALL of the instructions, particularly about turning off the Automatic Updating.
