Thanks for the link, interesting read.
Interesting that while 8 brings improvement across the board to browser performance, Internet Exlorer gets the biggest speed boost (from 10.3 in 7, to 19.1 in 8).
I also find it interesting that even with this speed boost, IE performance in 8 still trails FF performance in 7 (slightly).

I'd like to think that, but then, that would be implying that IE9 & Windows 7 are not built for each other wouldn't it?
