Virus Total states that CCleaner/Piriform is a malicious site

Hello

I tried to download the latest CCleaner version, 5.19, and before downloading I submitted it to Virus Total. Two of their associates, AVIRA and Dr. Web stated that it is a MALICIOUS SITE. I do not care so much for Dr. Web’s statements, they are a little too much neurotic for my standards but AVIRA is serious. Could you please help me on that subject?

Thank you. If possible, urgent, I still have the 5.18 version. Thank you.

A false positive from Dr.Web and Avira. They could both be detecting the 3rd party Google software in the normal installer.

Instead of using the normal installer download the Slim installer which doesn't contain any Google software, it's available at:

Thank you for your prompt answer!

I clicked on the Slim installer and got the very same statement when submitting to Virus Total!!

But I will trust YOU, I am going to download and install it.

I believe you guys should see what is happening!

As I said, Dr. Web is forgettable, but this isn’t the case of AVIRA.

Thank you.

Best regards

Similar problem.

ESET Antivirus 9 says that win32/bundled.toolbar.google.d is part of the download both from Filehippo and directly from Pirisoft.com.

Similar solution dpaulhesk.

Although your link doesn't work, I can see that you chose the "Standard installer ccseup520.exe" and not the "Installer, no toolbar ccsetup520_slim.exe".

Here's the link again ...

Scroll down to find the "Slim" build which is free from Google software.

Also ESET will typically detect the bundled in Google software and has done so for a long time now. With ESET the only solution with it if you don't want alarms going off is to use the Slim installer, or even the Portable ZIP version which has no installer. Again both are available on the Builds page: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
