virtual drives

I have a program called alchohal 52 (or something) that's free and lets you emulate virtual drives. However, I still don't know how to use it or how to works. For example, I have a program that requires me to stick the cd in everytime i want to use it. Is it possible to emulate it to the virtual drive so I don't need to put the cd in everytime?

thanks!

You need to rip an .iso (image) of the CD you'd like to emulate. Personally, I recommend DAEMON TOOLS for mounting images.

I agree use Daemon Tools, just during install remember to un-check the "install sponsor" option.

Though to rip a copy of you program may not be so easy if it has protection, I cant think of any freeware ripping programs so wait till someone suggests one.

If you have Nero installed you could try using that.

I have the licended copy of the game chessmaster, but it's really a pain eveytime i have to stick it in.......i do believe it is copy protected

I do have nero, but i'm not sure how to use it to rip it if it is protected

If you just want to run the game without the CD there are no-CD patches for Chessmaster 8000, Chessmaster 9000 and Chessmaster 10th Edition at GameCopyWorld.com ;)
