Hello- used CCcleaner for years. Tried it recently on a new cpu after downloading directly from Piriform. However, after every scan chrome automatically gets changed to use the V9 search engine as a a default and v9 as a home page. Ive removed and changed v9 manually so this only happens after a cccleaner run.
Is this malware, is there anyway to get rid of this. It ruins an otherwise great product....thanks
probably adware. try running adwcleaner

you need to do as @Andavari suggests and get your PC scanned.

shoot!, sorry, I only read the first 2 pages and thought that was enough to add ammo that it was malware.
didn't notice that site also had removal instructions.
Try running AdwCleaner or ZHPCleaner. Refer to the parent forum for links and such.
