What a crock this v7 is. It’s been slammed/tomato hit/criticised by just about everyone, and this is anotther bug to add to the list, the growing and list that the prirform geeks don’t want to acknowledge and do something about . .
I installed 7.1.1066 on 3 machines, and rapidly reverted to v6 on 2 of them for all the reasons that have been aired, plus for me the lack of any restore point feature that I used extensively in v6.39. I left v7 installed on 1 machine - not often used but kept up-to-date, “just in case” - to keep a watch on what happens as a result of updates.
And the update mechanism does not work. My specific config is ‘advise but update manually’ and there is a blue “update now” button presented to do just that. And today, the update check said there was a new v7.2 available, so I clicked the update now button, it went to fade and then nothing . . . after a few minutes I killed the app and re-started it (thought: maybe its updated but not re-started?) but no, the re-started app is stuck on 7.1. Repeatable - did this twice.
So, major bug: update does not work for the update manually option.
What a crock; it’s a tool, only the reasonably tech capable users are going to use this app, so why the devs thinks they can behave like MS and cripple the app whilst allegedly making it look so cool its bland and visually untasteful beggars the mind.
