A great idea to indicate what USB ports are being used seeing that these days we have so many USB ports available. What would also be nice to have is a list of vacant (unused) IO ports. Very handy when one asks one's self, "I wonder if i have a PCI slot for that TV capture card?".

I agree, USB device info is always lacking and like Tasgandy says, most PC's have some USB device attached.

Another suggestion. I'm using D-Link's Shareport which allows me to hook up almost anything USB to share among my computers on my workbench. Shareport basically acts like a USB Switch. Is it possible to report on all the USB devices? I have hard drives, DVD/DVD-Writer, Printers, Memory Card Readers attached to Printer, Scanner from All-in-One Printer, etc. All of them work fine with various computers and OS's, but obviously involve more than one USB Hub. Is it also possible to identify each of the hubs and what is attached to each hub? e.g. Shareport is hub, the printer is a hub for devices like the memory card readers. Can they each be identified separately?

Concerning USB hubs, I understand that some implementations of USB ports are including multiple hubs within a PC to allow for higher speeds, since each hub shares it's bandwidth with all the devices attached to it. By including only one port per hub, some ports would be better performers. This wouldn't mean much unless there is some way to identify each port on each hub.
