Is it possible to check when your USB stick was plugged into a computer and to see what time. I don't really want to download software to check it, but I read somewhere event viewer can tell me, is this true?
On an OS newer than XP perhaps you have such luxury? On XP it doesn't give any obvious clue when it was last used - other than if you copied files to or changed files on the USB thumb drive then those are logged as part of the files themselves via the date/time stamp.

should do
Can also cause problems if people by user-inflicted mistake delete the wrong thing - make a System Restore Point before playing with it, unless I'm confusing it with some other NirSoft tool being there's so many.
it's definitely not recorded in Event Viewer for Win 7 or 8.
There is no USB history listing in the OS that I am aware of. What I would suggest is downloading and installing BelArc Advisor, it's free. Not only does BelArc give you a detailed listing of your computer hardware and software, but it also includes a 30 day USB history that details the date, time and what devices were plugged in.
Well thanks for the suggestions

Good warning, don't use it to delete just to see the last plugged date.
Thanks guys!
My USB is not working. I think a virus infected it. Is there anything I can do or should I buy a new one?

Start here, one of those linked forums can help:

If you plugged in an infected Flash drive, your P.C. may be infected ready to infect any new ones you plug in

not a good idea to use someone's unrelated thread, start your own so others with similar problems can benefit from suggestions.
maybe a Mod can rectify this for us....
