USB drive misidentified as SSD

All my external USB drives are showing as SSD drives in the Wriper tool. Wriper still runs, but I get a warning saying that it is not recommended to wripe an SSD drive.

there are quiet a few threads on this issue, mostly internal drives being classified wrongly.

it's even more common with external drives as CCleaner, or Speccy, or even Windows sometimes, is detecting the external USB controller and how it has identified the drive and not the physical drive enclosed.

I've had SSD's in USB2 and USB3 enclosures that get it about 50% right, seems to be better with newer USB3 devices.

I recently put a mSata drive into a mSata enclosure and luckily Windows and CC detects it correctly.

it seems to be a lucky matchup of hardwares rather than anything else. :)
