Updating drivers

Each time I update the drivers it says computer is up to date. Next time I scan my computer it says I have the same drivers to update. Why does this happen

Which drivers are we talking about?

Are you using any other ‘Updater’ which may be changing them again?

my apologies they are software that is updated time and again. This morning “security update for microsoft defender anitivirus KB2267692 version 14357570 had to be updated again. This is about the fifth time for this one.

Ah yes, those are as you note Microsoft Security updates / Defender definition updates.

They are released multiple times (often multiple times each day) as new definitions get added, and they are always the same KB numbers.

So it isn’t actually offering you the same thing each time, the KB number is the same but the definitions have changed.

TBH I have no idea why someone thought that the Windows Updates should be included in any Software Updater when Windows takes care of them automatically anyway?
Plus you can always ‘Check fo Updates’ in Windows settings which will fetch any that are needed for your machine.

It is interesting to note that the software updater in health Check does not include any of the Windows Updates, - it doesnt need to because Windows does them itself.
(They are only shown in the stand alone Software Updater).

Personally I simply ignore them in CCleaners Software Uodater and let Windows itself take care of them.
And that goes for all Windows updates not just the Security/Defender definitions.
