Unwanted Pop Up screen

Version 7.3.1120.0 and this is the PAID version. I keep getting a screen popping up telling me I have the latest version…….continually. It won’t stop! If I can’t get this resolved, I’ll just go back to the free portable version and YOU will lose an annual subscription. Thanks

You’re not the first to report this, as you know from posting in the other thread, but nobody’s posted a screenshot, i have the latest version and on no versions of seven have i seen this, or any splash screen, not to discount your experience i just have no frame of reference.

As far as monitored yes but rarely intervened in. Here you, instead, have other users many of which are very knowledgeable.

Well, it’s just a plain white screen with a number of lines on it (functions) that has a “Close” button at the bottom and “You have the latest version of CCleaner” (or something close to that) printed at the top. It’s VERY random and doesn’t necessarily occur on every reboot or wakeup from sleep mode. Of course, it’s also VERY annoying and I am NOT renewing my subscription to the product but instead will just use the portable free version. I can’t figure out why these people try to sell subscriptions to a product and then don’t bother to fix a simple issue such as this one.

I understand, but a quick screenshot would probably allow me to diagnos and even fix for you. My current thinking is that you’re using a acessibilty screen magnification and that there may be a ‘show this every time’ checkbox hidden. But i can’t exclude that or form any other theories, without imput from you.
You can also contact support, through the AI chat first then long waits for a human. But, based on past history, it’s probably a easy fix and we here can solve it before them.

I WILL post a screenshot here the next time I see that screen pop up.

However, one thing I find disturbing is the fact that CCleaner is in my Services list on “Automatic”. I can, of course, change it to “Disabled” or “Manual” BUT then I do not get the full list of options when I open CCleaner. I’m not sure why CCleaner has to be running as a service continually in Windows. It should be able to show the full list when I start the program.

BTW, I have opted to NOT have the program check for Updates automatically, Instead, I check for updates manually using the “Check for Updates” button on occasion. That is a separate issue but I find it disconcerting that the button just sort of “flashes” rather than getting some sort of feedback that there are no current updates or I have the latest version. That pop up box says that but I don’t see that every time I check for updates; it pops up randomly.

Yeah, i too have in on manual, and i agree, there’s no feedback that the button has been pressed

As to why ccleaner is a service now, it will occasionally scan and be more ready for a clean, you don’t have to scan first, though i still do.

I don’t like it, frankly, and don’t see any benefit to having the service running continuously. I just click the “Clean and fix” button and it performs in the manner I chose from the options; it never changes. All I really need CCleaner to do is empty the trash can, clear cache, cookies, and the like. I hardly use any of the other features so I’m not sure why I bothered to pay for the Pro version.

On a side note now, I haven’t seen that popup screen since I posted my original message. If I do, I’ll be sure to take a screenshot and post it here.

I’m getting the same popup regularly. I finally went into services and set it to manual. If that’ doesn’t work, I’ll disable the service. It means more work for me, as I have to run manual checks, but the pop up is extremely annoying. Honestly, it makes me want to uninstall it all together and find another app.

Without the service running ccleaner 7 shows only two tools and a fake healthcheck that will never scan, in otherwords it breaks ccleaner.

Do you have windows set to magnify the screen, at least part is missing, see cCleaner opening popup after upgrade - #3 by ianjuby

No, I do NOT have Windows set to magnify the screen. You’re looking at a screenshot that I took from the ENTIRE screen, not just the pop up. This is a bug.

I agree, looks like it’s time to find another cleaner unfortunately.

This is a problem with the application, it started after the last update, everyone I know that uses CCleaner gets the same popup every single day, started a few weeks ago, never occurred before … frustrating!
Every day it checks for an update … the developers messed up and are now generating a pop-up even if there is no update available… this should be an easy fix … not sure why this bug has been around for two weeks with no resolution!

The popup box on startup is annoying. And it seems there is no way to disable it. I can see the first time after you install the software it pops up, I can understand that. But every time I start my computer? And you want people to recommend the software? There needs to be a way to disable things like this in a settings menu or somewhere…like right click and disable is an option. Hold on…let me click the X to close the window. Very frustrating.

Hi All,
This issue is expected to be resolved in the upcoming CCleaner v7.4 update, which will be released soon.
If you continue to experience this problem after updating to v7.4, please reach out to me so we can investigate further.
Thank you for your patience!
