Unrecognised hdd

Hi All,

I wonder if someone can help me with Recuva. I recently downloaded a hdd speed test software, unfortunately it deleted my hdd partitions. I have since bought another hdd, which I was going to do anyway. However, when I run recuva to recover the old hdd, a window opens which wants to format the drive, when I click no, it say's it can't find the path.

Someone suggested that I format the drive then recover it. As you can imagine, I am a bit reluctant to do that, as I don't want to delete the hdd twice, as this may damage what files are still on there further.

Can someone tell the best way to go about recovery please.

Regards

Hi Torq2, and welcome to the forum.

If the partitions you mention, which I assume are on the same hard drive, have simply been deleted, and the drive has not been formatted, then it may be possible to simply "undelete" those partitions and restore them to as they were.

You can use a number of different freeware programs to do this, and it's something I would definitely try before formatting. So it's good that you refrained from that.

Have a look at the following ...

EASEUS Partition Recovery:

MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition:

Lazesoft Data Recovery Home:

Hope that helps, and let us know how you get on.
