I installed the DivX player and cannot uninstall it. I think I ran an uninstall when I removed another media player I had downloaded. The shortcut appears on the desktop and there is a Divx folder in the Programs folder. Add/Remove programs in the control panel does not find anything called DivX. ccleaner Uninstall does ot find any DivX program. The question: if add/remove cannot see it and if cCleaner cannot see it, has it been uninstalled?
(aside: I later discovered that installing the K-Lite codek pack solved the problem I was having. I recommend no one install the divx player or any of their software. Lots of people have complained, on the DivX website.)
