I use CCleaner already several years and I activate it regularly, before shuting down my computer after day's work.

This I did also today. But then I remembered a deleted file that I need still, and tried to find it using Recuva (for the first time). And there I found a lot of files of which I don"t know nothing, I didn't never see them before and certainly not opened them.

What is wrong with my CCleaner's configuration and why it didn't remove such files.

How can any strange files be removed really?

I don't understand what you are asking

ccleaner did it's job, it removed the junk

recuva searches for removed files and thus it also did it's job

what is the question here exactly?

and most of the "strange files" are probably internet cache
