Hello - need some help here with a high schoolers Windows 11 laptop. Laptop has had Ccleaner for one year now and the license expired recently. I downloaded the latest version of Ccleaner and bought a new license but the new license wouldn’t work throwing an error message as attached - “unable to activate”. I’ve tried uninstalling-reinstalling but no luck. Need your help, please.
Did you buy the new licence direct from CCleaner, or was it from a licence selling website?
If you bought from CCleaner then you can try the following:
If you want to manage and/or cancel your subscription then there is a webpage for that here: Subscription Management
If you need to look up your Cleverbridge reference then: Customer Support Contact Page
If you need to look up your CCleaner licence key then use this tool: CCleaner.com - License Lookup
If you can’t use those, (eg can no longer access your registered email), or for anything else account/billing related, including refunds, then you will need to contact support.
All customers MUST now use the ‘Live Chat’ support service. It is currently the only way to contact support.
To start- fill in this form: Contact Form.
Once you submit the form you will be given a support ticket/ID number onscreen, with a summary of your request.
Below that is the button to go straight into the ‘Live Chat’ where a virtual assistant will try to help you initially based on what you have put in the form.
If the AI can’t help then you will be passed to a real person.
IMPORTANT- Don’t just fill in the form and leave - If you do not engage with the chat then you will not get any reply.
I bought it directly from a license website. Does it mean I cannot use Ccleaner support?
I was afraid that might be the case.
Have you tried using the Licence Lookup to see if it knows your email? (The one you had the key sent to),
There are a lot of fakes out there.
We have had some recent ‘I cant activate my new licence’ posts from others who have bought licences for ridiculously low prices.
Checking one such users report I found a website advertising CCleaner licences for sale at under £1/$1. - Obviously at that price they are too cheap to be true, they are fake.
(or the same licence sold multiple times, or both).
You could try contacting CCleaner support to check on if the licence that you have bought is genuine or not.
However if you have bought a fake then I’m afraid that you can’t expect much - other than an offer to sell you a genuine one.
If you have bought a fake then you could try contacting whoever you bought it from, again I wouldn’t expect much if they are selling fakes.
PS. If you have used such a site and given such fakers/counterfeiters/scammers your payment and/or card details then you may want to get those changed ASAP.
If you gave them your email to send a key to then I would also expect a lot more spam to be appearing in your email box.
Hi @drecrolecs,
I am not able to find any purchase under the email address used on your forum account.
I have sent you a DM for more details on this so I can investigate this issue further.
