Unable to upgrade ccleaner because it comes with other programmes. I do not want the other programmes.

How do I upgrade without these add ons please?

What add ons are you referring to? The Chrome and Avast offers in the installer?

I've accidentally solved this.

If you go to the piriform webpage and click upgrade Ccleaner free. Then download it is blocked by Malaware bytes stating it has pups.

I go back and see it has another programme. ( cannot remember what).

However I went to your FAQ section and clicking difficulties upgrading I saw at the bottom in green click here to upgrade.

This sent me to I think another Piriform page where I was able to download the new version without add on's and not blocked by Malaware bytes.

That will be the 'builds' page, where you can download:

  • The 'Standard' installer, with the bundled offers for Avast or Chrome.
  • The 'Slim' installer, without the bundled offers.
  • The 'Portable' version, which does not have an installer at all.

It's the 'Standard' installer that some AVs/AMs don't like because of the bundled offers. 

The 'Slim' installer doesn't have those so the AV/AM accepts it.

You usually have to wait a few days/week after the release of a new version for the 'Slim' and 'Portable' versions to be available.

Most 'experienced' users have that page bookmarked and download their installers from there rather than upgrading from within the programme itself.

The slim build, on that page, is the installer without extra programs
