It downloads OK but won't install using either IE-11 or Google Chrome. A write err occurs -> 'retry' or 'ignore' don't help. Any suggestions ? Thanx

Which antivirus do you use? Some antivirus grab ccleaner's installer because the bundled google software. Second have you tried downloading to a local file ("save", not "save and run" or "run") and the (by right clicking the downloaded file) "Run as Admin"
What operating system?
Make sure that another instance of Ccleaner is not already running.
If all else fails try installing in safe mode.
