Unable to clear the Most Recently Used list in words 2003

Hi

Following is my config in ccleaner (refer to pic1)

When I use ccleaner to clean it was not able clear the Most Recently Used list in words 2003. (refer to pic2)

On words 2003, I have to click tools -- options -- general

uncheck "recently use file list" and check that box again to remove the list. (refer to pic3)

Is there something missing in my configuration of ccleaner ?

Thanks

firstly, upgrade your CC version to the latest, just to be sure.

next, do you have an EXCLUDE in CC to not clean \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Recent\ ?

Yes latest version of CC free version.

No ... EXCLUDE in CC to not clean \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Recent\

CC cleaner does clean excel 2003's most recent but not words 2003's most recent.

just checking, so you upgraded to CC v5.13 between post 1 and post 3 (you were using v5.12 as shown in your screenshot) ?

as far as Word or Excel goes, both use the same location for Recent Files, so that's weird CC does Excel but not Word.

do you use winapp2.ini or any other CC enhancements?

any chance Word was still open when you run CC? (long shot but just thinking out loud)

try running CC with the PC in Safe Mode and see what happens. Theory being some background task may be interfering.

It turn out in word 2003 MRU is located in registry

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Data]

"Settings"

so if CC isn't cleaning Word MRU for you, you'll have to INCLUDE that reg key you found to make it do so I guess.

good job on the research too.
