I have run CCleaner several times and find it cannot clean some things, why? I never saw that on the previous versions. Most recently it was Windows Logs files that it could not clean.
Hi @chzuck,
Please contact our support team via the Contact Us page on our Help Centre using the same email address you used to make your purchase. Once you have clicked Submit, please click the Start Chat button to give details to an agent so we can investigate this further.
I donât have a claim, I am using the free version. Just voicing the problems I see with the new version.
Thanks for this information @chzuck, could you send me a screenshot showing what you are not able to clean in CCleaner so I can advise you further?
Thanks for this screenshot.
Most cleaning failures, such as this, are due to applications being open at the time of the clean and so the files canât be deleted.
Please could you confirm if you still experience this issue if you run a clean as soon as your PC boots up.
I will check that. It has not been my practice to run on boot up, always before I shut down for the day. I donât know that I ever had that problem with previous versions. I will check, because I am now using the old version and could be those items are not checked for cleaning.
We are told that the older versions used to âskipâ those open files too - it just didnât tell you about it like v7 now does.
I expect that the simplest option will be taken and it will be changed so that v7 doesnât tell you either,
Any fix? Staying with old version! It works!
Maybe not true. I looked at the old version I am running and it says it deleted the Windows Log files that 7 did not.
Strange I have not heard from the CCleaner Staff person in days after I posted the last screenshot of files not deleted. Maybe, âHouston, we have a problemâ.
I think we can all agree that as released CCleaner 7 is definitely Not a fit replacement for the older versions.
Personally I donât think that it ever will be now, the target customer base has obviously changed over the last several years. CCleaner is now firmly targeted at a less savy, less techie, userbase.
