I'm a newbie. After "system restore" could not fix his brain-dead desktop computer, my son then tried using "repair my computer" from advanced boot options with his Vista installation disk, and clicked on "Windows complete PC restore". He did not know that all his files and added programs would be wiped out. I tried using recuva loaded on a DVD, which seemed to work just fine, except I chose to save the recovered files to a DVD in the E: drive. I could not read the files which were saved by unziping them. Can you not save the files to a disk drive? I tried to find that out everywhere, but couldnt. This may sound dumb, but can you write the recovered files to a disk?
