Hi,
I am getting this strange issue with Ccleaner 5.66. Soon after the installation of Ccleaner 5.66 desktop application, too many windows of ccleaner will popup. If I cannot reboot the system, i may get infinite count of these window. I cannot event close all. By the time I close one window, two more appears.
PLEASE HELP.

What operating system do you run?
Did you have CCleaner before you got 5.66?
In Windows Task Manager do you see lots of instances of CCleaner there?
Have you tried uninstalling CCleaner.. restarting your machine.. then doing a clean install of CCleaner?

Yes, previously it was working fine.
Yes, in task manager i see MANY instances. It keeps on adding.
Yes, I tried uninstalling, restarting and installing again.
Please help if you have any better way to prevent the issue.
When you have uninstalled CCleaner did you have a quick look in the Task Manager to make sure there were no instances of CCleaner left?
Can you try an install of the Slim Build (last in list) from here to see if it happens?
When does this multiple opening happen?
Is it on startup of the computer, or is it when you click on CCleaner to run it?

After uninstall, I restarted the system and tried with slim build as well. NO LUCK..
what kind of windows opens? what windows-content?
if all from ccleaner i can imagine what popups.
one way is to block ccleaner with your firewall... the next is disable something in the settings if you dont need or want this for yourself
have you the free version or a buyed one?
is smart cleaning active? or scheduling (pro)?
is updates set of automatically?

i use free version.
You still have not said just what is opening, or when.
Is the main CCleaner window? Or is it an advertising pop-up? Or is it something else?
A screenshot would help us understand.
Does it happen when you start the computer? Or does it happen some other time?
Many such CCleaner windows opens. Please find attached issue details and help me to solve it. Thank you so much.

I've never seen that happening before with CCleaner or anything else.
If it's happening when you turn on the computer then I would check if you have multiple start up tasks scheduled.
If you can use any of those CCleaners then go to Tools>Startup and check there.
If you can't use CCleaner then type 'sched' into your searchbox to bring up the Windows task scheduler.
To be absolutely sure that it isn't some kind of malware causing this then I suggest that you go to Malwarebytes forum and ask them to check your machine for you.
They will do it for free and are very good at sorting out any problems you may be having, not just malware.

to the devs:
mmmmh... perhaps its time to add a new option in ccleaner settings?
ccleaner -> options -> advanced -> add a new option "allow only one instance of ccleaner"
TBH it looks more like the kind of prank that a colleauge/family member might play by setting a schedule or task to launch multiple instances.
If it were a programming bug in CCleaner then I'd expect to see other people shouting about it.
It has been quite a while since the last post on this topic, but I’d like to reopen it due to having the same exact issue. No previous download on my Windows 10 machine, have replicated all tips given to no prevail. Running as regular/administrator user doesn’t change the outcome, and neither does clearing any temp files. I’ve run both MSERT (who I’ve found most reliable in discovering hidden viruses) & herdProtect (mass program virus scanner) antivirus scans, so I can assure you this isn’t some type of malicious download or backdoor on the computer. As for replicating the problem, it’s hard to explain since it seems to be a very rare issue: I simply click on CCleaner to start it up, and it replicates the instance a seemingly infinite amount of times. The most peculiar thing about it is that Task Manager doesn’t group the instance together as it does with other programs; they are all listed separately. I’ve attached a video (sorry for the bad crop) demonstrating this issue, though the window duplication was much slower due to me recording.
