The end for MS Paint

It's been announced that Paint our old friend for many, many years will, in the next version of Win 10 in September, be either removed or no longer developed.

Good bye little friend!!

I wonder what Jim'll Paint It will do now. He paints pictures free for people using paint and has 700,000 followers on Facebook.

couldn't even tell you the last time I used Paint, switched over to paint.net years ago.

First they took Clippy, now it's Paint.

Where will it end

"In the future, we will offer MS Paint in the Windows Store also for free and continue to provide new updates and experiences to Paint 3D so people have the best creative tools all in one place."

Never used it really, ever....

Paint is imho very cool bit of software.

The early versions, clunky by today's standards, showed us that we could create art on our computer.

Got kids interested when nothing else did.

They listened!!

Today, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support and nostalgia around MS Paint. If there’s anything we learned, it’s that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans.

MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free.

Oh come on!!!

either ditch it or keep it, but just be consistent.

what about Windows Media Player, Outlook Express as examples.

surely they had bigger fan bases then MS Paint and an 'incredible outpouring' when they were pulled.

First they took Clippy, now it's Paint.

Where will it end

When they get rid of everything, then those blank black Win10 screens will be permanent.

I think it's good that they'll make it available, sometimes to just fix something simple it is still handy versus loading some bloated program with a ton of plugins, etc.. In my opinion it's a very daft move putting it on the Windows Store since it literally takes up hardly any space. Although Paint.net is the perfect replacement!
