I?m finding that CCleaner is no longer deleting my .tmp files even though there are many several days old. I have Temporary Files checked under CCleaner Windows Tab and ?Only delete files in Temp folders older than 24 hrs? in Advanced Options. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and the latest version of CCleaner. Any ideas why this may have all of a sudden happened?
Try after unticking "Only delete files in Temp folders older than 24 hrs." For some reason in the past that's fixed the issue for some people.
I did as you suggested, then pressed the Analyze button. Hurrah! temp files appeared. Are they all safe to delete? If so, why the checkbox for older than 24 hrs?

Because some temp files may still be in use. As alan just stated, if a files is accessed within that 24 hour period, it wont be deleted.
Safe to delete? deleting any tmp file wont harm your machine, but we are not mind readers to what temp files are listed.
