Ever since last week, my restore points don't show up in CCleaner. When I click on the system restore tab, its loads up immediately, with no restore points. I checked system restore and there were a lot. Is this a bug?
Version of ccleaner (don't say "latest" as this imparts no information)
v3.04.1389
I'mm running on xp
Ever since last week,
One week ago my Windows had a lifetime of only 2 minutes.
Even starting in Safe mode it froze solid after only 2 minutes with NO shutdown other than by pulling the plug.
The previous day M.S. pushed through a couple of unwanted and un-announced updates.
I thought I had them fully blocked.
Macrium restored a backup image from 2 days earlier and all is well.
Good to know that if malware breaks through my defences I can instantly recover,
but in practice Microsoft Updates cause me far more grief ! !
Perhaps the same updates did you harm also.

So how do i fix it?
oops!
Sorry, misinterpreted the problem.
I think it is a misunderstanding by CCleaner of the state of Windows System Restore.
When something is broken then use of System Restore MAY fix it,
but it depends upon what needs fixing and also the UNSPECIFIED Operating System.
An alternative with fewer repercussions may be to try the Portable version of CCleaner copied to a different location.
If that also cannot see restore points then there is some anomaly in your system.
If it can see the restore points then there may be something wrong with something in your installed CCleaner registry settings.
If you have altered your CCleaner settings from standard defaults then use "Save Settings to INI" if you want a simple way to restore your preferences.
