Suggestion for Future Changes

I'm one of the dreaded home users. I love CCleaner. However, with the latest changes, it seems detail is becoming a thing of the past. The one thing which has concerned me all along is: I would like to know the exact detail of each and every proposed deletion BEFORE I delete it....especially the Temporary Internet Files. My system has been re-configured and I no longer have "Temporary Internet Files". Everything is being dumped in "Documents and Settings" which bothers me but I cannot figure out how to change it (all help would be appreciated short of doing anything with the Registry). In any event, due to the massive changes and re-installation of Windows XP SP2 and Drivers, I don't want to go through anything like that again. Therefore, I would like to be able to determine on an item-by-item basis which I can selectively delete BEFORE deleting it. That way, I can see where the temporary internet files are being stored on a case by case basis. This would help me a great deal. If some knowledgeable person can offer me some suggestions on this before the current version is upgraded again, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, just a request to the genius programmers for the next version...and I'm not being flippant. I think any programmers are geniuses. :)

Open CCleaner - Options - Advanced.

Tick what you want to show.

It still does not give me the option to know exactly what I am removing BEFORE it is deleted on a line by line basis.

I no longer have "Temporary Internet Files". Everything is being dumped in "Documents and Settings" which bothers me but I cannot figure out how to change it
  1. Go into Internet Explorer's Internet Options, here's how:

Control Panel->Network and Internet Connections->Internet Options

  2. On the General Tab under Browser History click Settings.
  3. You now have a window opened which will let you change the location of Temporary Internet Files when you click Move folder.

The default location is supposed to be in:

    “C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Profile Name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files”

That's exactly the way it's set. However, there is a particularly troublesome game site which constantly messes with my computer when I'm playing. My main focus is to get rid of their additions or cookies or "fixes" right after they make them. So I use CCleaner but it erases things I really don't want erased which were also provided in temporary internet files. That's why I would like to be able to pick and choose exactly which temp files to delete BEFORE they are deleted but after I have run the analysis.

You could try running your browser through Sandboxie.

Get your Temp Inet Cache how you want it then open your browser running through Sandboxie.

After you have finished a session delete the contents of the Sandbox and only the sandboxed cache is deleted, leaving the original cache as it was.

May take a bit of getting used to but after a bit it sorta becomes second nature.
